Dear Lincoln School Families,
Welcome to the new school year! We would like to extend a special welcome to the families joining Lincoln for the first time. We are thrilled that you are part of our school community and look forward to meeting you.

Lincoln School is a special place to learn. Our community is made up of families from many different ethnicities, cultures, religions, family structures, and household professions who all want the best for our children. Lincoln Lions speak more than 25 different languages! This diverse mix of families adds great value to our children’s school experience.

Lincoln teachers, specialists, administrators, and support staff are passionate and dedicated educators. They work tirelessly to create a joyful, engaging and safe learning environment for all students.

To support their work, the Lincoln Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) funds a variety of enrichment activities, field trips, library resources, technology, student supports, and necessary classroom materials. We also hope this year we can return to hosting more of the community building events that are well loved traditions at Lincoln: Dance Party, Variety Show, Spirit Day, and more.

We need your help to make all of this happen! The PTO’s total fundraising goal for the 2021-2022 school year is $40,000 and we want to get there early and strong with only TWO major fundraisers!

Our first major fundraiser is this Annual Appeal letter. You can make your fully tax deductible donations a few ways:
● Cash or check donations left at the school office Treasurers box (checks payable to Lincoln Elementary School PTO)
● Contribute online through PayPal at bit.ly/LincolnPTO. This link is also available at our new PTO website: http://lincoln.melrosepto.com/ PayPal will allow you to set up a monthly recurring donation if desired
● Hand your donation to one of our current Co-Treasurers: Charlene Sanna or Amanda Clark
● Check with your employer’s matching gift program as a possible way to double your donation dollars

Our second major fundraiser is the Fun Run/Step Up for Lincoln challenge. The FUN RUN is an opportunity for you to seek donations from extended family and friends. More information about the Fun Run will be shared soon.

If every Lincoln family donates $50 per student to the Annual Appeal, we will raise $21,000 – almost half of our goal for the year! If every Lincoln family donates $100, we won’t even need to do more fundraising! Every dollar raised will directly benefit our Lincoln students and educators. Here are a few examples of what your donations can
provide:
● $25 Popular book series for the library
● $50 Classroom recess bucket packed with fun toys
● $100 Flexible classroom seating (bean bag chair, yoga ball)
● $250 Museum of Science visiting workshop for one classroom
● $500 Beebot bundle digital literacy learning tool
● $1,000 School bus transport for a field trip

Volunteers are essential to the work of the PTO and to Lincoln School. If you are not able to provide a financial contribution at this time, we hope you will share your time and talents. All Lincoln parents and caregivers are welcome members of the PTO! We will share more information in coming weeks about volunteer opportunities.
